Where can i spot a clear sky full of stars at night in san antonio?

hi i just wanna make someones bday special so is there a place where i can take her to dinner for sort of a night picnic under the stars in san antonio... and where would be the best place to check out stars in San antonio ...the girl likes her stars lolWhere can i spot a clear sky full of stars at night in san antonio?
The link below is a night satellite view of Texas. San Antonio is the bright spot below the S in Texas. The darkest areas appear to be north and west of the city. The darker the land, the darker the sky.Where can i spot a clear sky full of stars at night in san antonio?
Clear depends on weather.

Full of stars depends on light.

You'll have to pick a day when the weather is going to be clear (easier now that summer's over and autumn has begun, though I know it can still be hot in S.A. till almost November)

THEN, you'll have to pick a site that is 30-50 miles from the city in order to escape the lights and really see a lot of stars. Closer to, or actually in, the city, you'll be able to see some stars, but not a lot. How many will thrill her is not our domain. Good Luck.

AND, as the other answer said, check out your local astronomy clubs for tips on good viewing sites within driving distance of S.A. Remember though, that the recommended sites could be a bit too crowded for more than viewing stars.....
Contact your local Astronomy club and find out when and where their next star party will be held.

Take your friend to the star party and look through the member's telescopes and ask questions.

Here is a list BY STATE of Astronomy clubs:

Its best when its clear and the moon isn't out also you have to be away from city lights so you can see stars.
