Does dark matter exist? can giant stars collapse and compress clear down to the size of an atom?

Some published science papers are saying as much. could it be that it becomes undetected matter of another dimension?Does dark matter exist? can giant stars collapse and compress clear down to the size of an atom?
Dark Matter - No one knows. Right now it is a ';fudge factor'; to make the calculations work out to what is observed in the universe.

Yes, in fact they can collapse down to zero volume. That is called a ';Black Hole.'; Conceptually a BB is a hole of zero dimension in the fabric of space-time.Does dark matter exist? can giant stars collapse and compress clear down to the size of an atom?
I think scientists are working on investigating Dark Matter. Currently CERN is researching the Higgs Boson, the next experiment takes place in November at the Large Hadron collider.

The Higgs Boson is supposed to account for the ';missing mass';, which is the reason Dark Matter is believed to exist.

I'm no physisist, yet, so don't take my answer as 100% factual. lol
No on both accounts until it is proven. Dark matter is used because General Relativity can not explain and the same is true for question two.
Scientist are still working on that matter so wait till further notice. But there is some evidence that dark matter exists.Ur other question is a bit... u know hard to explain
