Anyone know why there has been no moon in Georgia for the last week or so even with clear skies and stars?

It just passed it's New Moon phase. It is currently visible in the western portion of the sky in the early evenings and it will be up later and later as the days progress. Anyone know why there has been no moon in Georgia for the last week or so even with clear skies and stars?
There was a new moon on the 29th (Monday). After that, the moon becomes visible in the western sky each day for a short time after sunset, but at this time of year, the moon's orbit makes a shallow angle with the horizon in the evening, as seen from the northern hemisphere. It therefore takes a few days before it becomes both sufficiently far from the sun and reasonably high in the sky. If you were in the southern hemisphere, you'd have seen it much sooner.Anyone know why there has been no moon in Georgia for the last week or so even with clear skies and stars?
We see the moon only because it reflects sunlight.

The moon orbits the Earth once every 29 days but for part of that time the moon is closer to the sun than the Earth.

When the moon is directly between the Earth and the sun we can't see it - the entire sunlit side is facing away from us.

This is called ';new moon'; and occurs every 29 days or so.

For 2 or 3 nights before and after new moon we don't see it.

New moon this month was on September 29 - the moon wouldn't have been visible from about 9/27 until 10/2 or so.
It's not that there hasn't been a moon--it's just been out in the day, when it's bright out. It's harder to see the moon in the day and it's very easy to miss it. If it's a new moon, it's out during the day instead of the night. It will come back in a little bit.
Aren't you aware that the Moon orbits the Earth once every 29 days, and for a few days each month is too close to the Sun to be easily observed? This happens _every_ month, so it shouldn't be a big surprise!
it was a new moon. it happens every month.
it's been like that in the UK where i live. i think its way down south
