Why did ILM go with AMBER instead of CLEAR visors for the x-wing helmets in Star Wars: ANH?

In Star Wars: ANH, the X-Wing Fighter Pilot's helmet was modeled after the US Navy APH-6B flight helmet. Why did Industrial Light %26amp; Magic decide to go with AMBER Visors and not CLEAR?Why did ILM go with AMBER instead of CLEAR visors for the x-wing helmets in Star Wars: ANH?
When they were filming in the cockpits, the actors would sweat. The visors were tinted to make the sweat less visible.Why did ILM go with AMBER instead of CLEAR visors for the x-wing helmets in Star Wars: ANH?
